Effective October 1, 2022, Microsoft will stop support for Basic Auth in Microsoft Exchange Online Services
Basic Auth is the use of only a username and password to log into servers or access services. This traditional authentication method has become outdated and is replaced by Modern Auth. Microsoft has communicated this update to its users, but we recommend confirming one of the following options with your IT provider:
- Your company has already migrated to Modern Auth and enabled Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) on your O365 accounts; or
- Your company has a plan in place to migrate to Modern Auth prior to October 1st and the plan includes MFA.
